About Immersive Angkor:
Immersive Angkor is Cambodia’s first large-scale permanent immersive cultural experience, combining digital storytelling, heritage reconstitution, and immersive technologies to bring the history and legends of Angkor civilization to life.
Located within the Living Arts Pavilion in Siem Reap, Immersive Angkor aims to become a landmark cultural destination for both Cambodian and international visitors. The project is currently entering its final development phase ahead of its planned opening in December 2026.
We are looking for a General Manager who will play a key role in preparing the opening and building the foundations of the organization, and most important, act as the business leader and entrepreneur of the venue, with full P&L ownership from pre-opening through stabilized operations.
Position Overview:
This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to help establish, develop, and launch a new business, guiding it from concept to operation in preparation for a planned opening in December 2026.
The General Manager will lead the pre-opening phase, hold accountable key stakeholders, establish operational processes, build the initial team, and deliver the project for a successful launch on time and on budget. Post‑opening, the General Manager retains full accountability for the venue’s P&L, revenue, attendance, profitability, and continued development.
What You’ll Do:
- Own all pre-opening activities leading up to the December 2026 launch, with accountability for the deadline and budget.
- Develop and execute revenue strategy (direct ticketing, tour operators, B2B, group sales, merchandising, sponsorships) and drive commercial alignment between marketing, sales and visitor experience teams to achieve revenue targets.
- Work closely with project partners, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and shareholders.
- Establish operational procedures, reporting systems, KPIs, and service standards.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of future team members.
- Own fullP&L, budgeting, operational planning, and resource allocation, and financial forecasting (Capex/Opex).
- Ensure full operation, safety, and compliance readiness before opening.
- Represent the project to key partners and stakeholders.
- After launch, manage the venue’s daily operations while remaining accountable for P&L, guest NPS, and year‑one attendance goals.
- Build the organization from scratch: hiring, culture, KPIs, incentives.
- Report regularly to shareholders with data‑driven performance reviews.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, Event Management,Arts Management, or a related field.
- 7 to 12 years of professional experience, with proven P&L track record and ownership.
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, events, cultural institutions, entertainment, attractions, or related sectors. Experience leading a pre‑opening or launch phase of a venue/attraction and/or experience with tour operator is strongly preferred
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach: comfortable with ambiguity, resourcefulness, and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Khmer and/or French would be an advantage.
- Willingness to be based full‑time in Siem Reap
