Our Gourmet Department has been the exclusive distributor of Malongo coffee and machines since 2021 and expanded in 2025 to include a curated portfolio of fine wines and spirits, focusing on sustainable and ethically sourced products.
To support this growth, Confluences is seeking a Sales Admin & Business Development Intern for the Gourmet Department in Cambodia, a dual role combining administrative support (60%) and active contribution to the sales activity (40%).
Position Overview
As Sales Admin & Business Development Intern for the Malongo brand, you will share your time between two complementary missions. Around 60% of your role is dedicated to supporting the sales team with daily operations: internal coordination, order processing, invoicing, payment follow-up and reporting.
The remaining 40% is dedicated to the sales activity itself: prospecting new clients, joining client visits, tastings and machine demonstrations, preparing quotations, and supporting promotional campaigns. This role provides hands-on experience in both administration and commercial development within a dynamic international environment, with the opportunity to take real ownership of a client portfolio.
What You’ll Do:
1. Sales Administration & Coordination – 60% of the role
- Assist in the administrative coordination ofB2B, B2C, and distributor activities in close collaboration with the sales team.
- Manage and follow up on client invoicing, billing documentation, and financial records.
- Monitor client payments and liaise with the sales team to ensure timely follow-up.
- Act as a key point of contact between sales, finance, and other internal departments to ensure smooth information flow.
- Support accurate record-keeping for financial tracking, sales reporting, and stock follow-up.
- Maintain and update CRM systems and internal databases with administrative, financial, and commercial data.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient and well-organized internal operations.
2. Business Development & Sales Contribution – 40% of the role
- Identify and qualify new B2B prospects (hotels, restaurants, cafés, offices, retailers) and help build a structured prospection pipeline.
- Contact prospects by phone, email, Telegram, or in person to introduce the Malongo range and arrange appointments.
- Join the Business Developer on client visits, coffee tastings, machine demonstrations, and installations.
- Prepare quotations and commercial proposals, and follow up with clients until closing.
- Develop existing accounts: reorder follow-up, satisfaction checks, and up-selling of new products (coffee, tea, wines and spirits, machines).
- Support promotional activities, product launches, tasting events, and trade fairs.
- Contribute to sales analysis(volumes, revenue by segment, product performance) and propose ideas to grow the business.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience: Some experience in administration, finance, accounting, sales, business development, or customer service is a plus.
2. Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business administration, sales and marketing, finance, accounting, management, or a related field.
3. Skill: Familiarity withGoogle Workspace, Excel, and CRM tools is a plus.
4. Language: Proficiency inEnglish, knowledge of French is a strong asset, Khmer would be a greatplus.
5. Attribute:
- Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in coffee culture, sales, and customer engagement.
- Commercially minded and comfortable approaching new clients, in the field as well as by phone or message.
